Here are 6 tips that have helped us, and might facilitate you, on our journey to becoming more sustainable within the office.

Get Paperless

Try to limit unnecessary printing. As a digital marketing agency, the quantity we print is little, but we try and keep this in mind whenever possible.

You could reduce the quantity of printing within the office by sending necessary paperwork before meetings, taking paperless notes, and when desirous to print, having printer rules in situ. Example – When printing quite one page, you want to print using each side of the paper.

Simple Swaps

Swap out your single-use plastic cups, water bottles, or straws and instead herald a reusable alternative.

A handy tip is to stay alternatives in your desk just in case an emergency requires it.

Many of the Caffeinate team keep a reusable sack, a reusable cup (if we feel the urge to induce a takeaway coffee), metal straws, and a fork in our drawers.

Reduce, Reuse, Recycle

This tip could appear obvious, but if we can’t reduce the waste entirely, the following neatest thing is finding another that's kinder to the environment.

Make sure your office has clearly labeled and easy-to-find recycling bins for employees and visitors. Encouraging people to recycle efficiently and reuse things like folders and notebooks, and taking notes on the rear of old pages, will help the environment and prevent money within the future.

Keep the Snacks Eco-Friendly

Have things within the office to stay the temptation far from feeling the requirement to get outside of the office.

For example, at BridgeWeb, we have a coffee machine within the office, so we’re not continually purchasing takeaway coffee.

Un-Plug

Remembering to show off all computers, printers/copiers, and other electronics that don't must be left on at the tip of the day can help reduce energy usage.

Nobody is ideal

Remember, it’s okay to create mistakes! The road to being more sustainable will be an extended (and bumpy) one. One person at a time, we will make a difference.
